Pacific Coast Manor's Homelike Atmosphere:

To make the nursing home as home-like as possible is of utmost importance at Pacific Coast Manor. At the same time we must work within the restrictions of the physical plant of the building. We encourage Residents and their families to bring items that help make the environment as comfortable and pleasant as possible while not infringing on the rights of other Residents. Whether the Resident would like a phone or some of their own furniture, we will always work with them and their family to accommodate their needs.

Pacific Coast Manor's Intravenous Therapies Program
There may come a time when a loved one requires treatment of fluids through the vein, also known as Intravenous or IV therapy. Some of the things that can be administered through IV's are medication, hydration, high protein, comfort medications etc. IV therapy can be used to treat infections, malnutrition, dehydration and electrolyte

Pacific Coast Manor's Dementia Care Services

Anyone caring for a family member who has some level of dementia, whether from Alzheimer's or a stroke, knows how difficult it can be. The level of needs of the resident can vary from moment to moment and it can sometimes be a constant process of adapting. At Pacific Coast Manor, the staff is trained to identify and care for the special needs of those with dementia.

Pacific Coast Manor's Stroke Recovery Program:

The type and severity of a stroke influences the care and services required by residents with this diagnosis. Even residents with a history of a stroke in their past may still exhibit the lasting effects of stroke. The team at Pacific Coast Manor strives to help residents recuperate to their highest possible level. The best outcome is for residents to be able to return home on their own, but sometimes, due to the nature of illnesses and other conditions they may need additional help in their home or may need continued care at the nursing facility.

Pacific Coast Manor's Wound Treatment Process:

There is a variety of causes for different types of wounds that may present themselves. No matter what the cause or the type of wound, Pacific Coast Manor's team consisting of nurses, aides, wound nurse, physicians, pharmacy and laboratory all come together to help minimize pain, heal the wound and prevent recurrences. We also work very closely with the wound care center in Watsonville for those needing the more extensive services that they can offer.

Pacific Coast Manor's Hospice Coordination Services:

Hospice care may be provided in a variety of settings chosen by the patient or family such as the home, RCFE/assisted living or in a nursing facility like Pacific Coast Manor. Regardless of the setting, hospice care seeks to offer support to the terminally ill patient so that their final days may be spent with dignity in a setting appropriate for their care. Hospice care also offer counsel to family members and staff during the terminal phase of an illness and through supportive bereavement services after death.

Pacific Coast Manor's General Rehabilitation and Recuperation Process:

A person may experience weakness and general debilitation due to falls, illnesses such as flu or pneumonia, improper nutrition or a variety of other diagnoses. No matter what the cause, Pacific Coast Manor team offers a variety of services to help restore the person to an improved level of functioning.

Pacific Coast Manor Nursing Center's Pre - and Post - Op Care:

When someone experiences a surgery be it for a hip fracture, knee replacement, gallbladder etc, it can be quite debilitating and may require extra care that you are unable to receive at home but may not necessitate further hospitalization. This is where Pacific Coast Manor can step in and be of great assistance.
