Welcome to ABHOW's web site -- an online source of retirement and lifestyle information. We've built this site like we build our communities: with great respect for the spirit, curiosity, and diversity of the people we serve.

We opened our first community in 1949 in Los Altos, Calif. It was a pioneering move: the development of a campus that offers multiple levels of living and health care. Through our industry leadership in the 1950s and 1960s, we helped establish the "continuing care retirement community" as an attractive lifestyle option for American seniors.

We've kept on pioneering. Today in ABHOW's 30 communities, located in four Western states, we're innovating in assisted living, memory support, and wellness. To meet the demands of a changing market, we're offering larger floor plans, restaurant dining, and flexible contracts.

Our commitment to excellence has earned the respect of our profession. But our true aim is to earn our customers' trust. For that, we work hard every day.
